A native Montanan, Thor Erickson has been living and working in Los Angeles for thirteen years now.  He received his Bachelor of Arts from UCLA in 2003 and Master's in Architecture from The Southern California Institute of Architecture in 2008.  For the past six years he has been working as an architectural fabricator, specializing in CAM software programming and CNC operations.  With a passion for the outdoors and a love affair with the Mojave desert, he incorporated his business efforts in 2011 in order to start his construction and remodeling career aimed at rehabbing abandoned mid-century desert cabins and restoring five acre parcels to their natural and pristine conditions.  Since 2006, his work has spanned throughout the art and architectural spheres of Los Angeles, culminating last year in two sculptures he was contracted to fabricate for the United States' entry at the Venice Biennale ("Body in Flight" Allora and Calzadilla).  He currently works as the CNC Operations Coordinator at SCI_ARC, and commutes to Joshua Tree on the weekends to work on his most recent property rehab project.
